Photo Expo - Gensaka Shuzo

Ian Segal is a passionate visual storyteller based in Antwerp who balances commercial and artistic projects with a unique and humble approach. When invited to document a journey through Japan visiting sake breweries, Ian eagerly embraced the chance to blend his love for Japanese culture with his passion for food and drink. His stay at Gensaka Shuzo proved to be a transformative experience: the warm hospitality of the Gensaka family, the meticulous craft of the brewers, the rich history of the buildings, and the stunning beauty of the surrounding nature all became the perfect subjects for his lens. With sake serving as a central theme, Ian's images capture a narrative that transcends mere documentation, offering a profound glimpse into a remarkable world.

If you want to join us for the vernissage on Sunday September 22nd at Contrast Amsterdam, please RSVP to the event.
